The next generation BMW 7 Series (code: G11) has been spied undisguised this time with the side profile fully visible. Spy shots of the car had previously surfaced on New Year’s eve.

The car seen in the picture above seems to have got a lot of chrome treatment and this could be the Luxury Line variant of the luxury sedan. BMW recently announced that the new generation 7 Series will be 130 kg lighter than the current generation car thanks to the use of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). Power will come from new six cylinder engines and will be mated to a revised eight speed Steptronic gearbox.

On the interior, the new 7 will get a touchscreen iDrive system which will be a first for BMW. It will have support for gesture control technology, a remote parking system and a two-axle air suspension equipped with automatic self-leveling.

The car is expected to make its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September with sales beginning by the end of the year.
