2016 Jaguar XF revealed

Jaguar has revealed first details and pictures of the 2016 XF saloon.  At first glance you can notice the similarities with its smaller sibling, the XE. The car is actually 7 mm shorter and 3 mm lower than the older car. The wheelbase is 2960 mm which is 51 mm longer than before. The new Jaguar XF uses aluminium as major component in its construction which makes it 190 kg lighter than its predecessor.

On the inside, the new XF gets a new InControl Touch Pro Infotainment system with a 10.2 screen. There is a Bespoke 825W Meridian digital surround sound system with 17 speakers and there is a new 12.3 inch TFT instrument cluster.

The new XF will come with a 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel engine putting out 163 horses and 380 Nm torque along with a more powerful version putting out 180 horsepower and 430 Nm torque. There will also be a twin turbo 3.0 V6 engine putting out 300 horsepower and 700 Nm torque and a 3.0 V6 supercharged motor with 380 horsepower and 450 Nm. All engines will be mated to an 8 speed automatic gearbox while the 2.0 Ingenium engine will have the option of a specially tuned 6 speed manual tranny.

The 2016 Jaguar XF will ,make its debut at the New York Motor Show on April 1st.
