Audi Q5The 2017 Audi Q5 has been revealed at the Paris Motor show. The new Q5 will see an international launch next year.

The new Audi Q5 adopts the Volkswagen Group’s MLB platform that has also been used in the development of the new A4 that was launched in India recently. This makes the new caar 100 kg lighter than its predecessor. Audi Q5 Audi Q5The 2017 Audi Q5 comes with a very aggressive stance. The front end features the large traditional Audi grille. The car will come with all LED headlamps or Matrix LED lights. It will also feature dynamic turn signals. Overall the design language is pretty similar to that of its larger sibling, the Q7.

The interior will features Audi’s Virtual Cockpit with a 12.3 inch screen along with a free standing 7 inchscreen on the centre console for the MMI infotainment system. Higher variants are expected to get  a larger 8.3 inch screen controlled by a rotary dial or a touchpad. An optional heads up display will also be offered. The new Q5 gets standard bootspace of 610 litres that can go up to 1550 litres with the middle row folded down.Audi Q5 Audi Q5Engine options will include four cylinder and V6 petrol and diesel motors. The V6 engines are jointly developed by Audi and Porsche. Audi is also planning a plug-in hybrid version of the Q5. It will feature a 2.0 litre four cylinder petrol engine combined with an electric motor. It is said to have an all electric range of 50 km. Audi will also make SQ5 and RS Q5 versions of the SUV. The SQ5 will develop 330 horsepower from a 3.0 litre V6 diesel engine while th RS Q5 will make around 500 horses from a twin turbocharged version of the same engine.Audi Q5 Audi Q5The new 2017 Audi Q5 will come with either front wheel drive all wheel drive. The engines will be mated to a six speed manual, seven speed dual clutch automatic or an eight speed torque converter automatic gearbox. It will come with five link front and rear suspension. It will come with optional air suspension and a self levelling feature from the Q7.

The new Q5 will be built at Audi’s new plant in Mexico and will come to India in 2017. Test mules of the new Q5 have already been spied on Indian roads.
