The Octavia has been synonymous with the Skoda brand in India reason being it was the first model from the Czech car maker when they debuted in India way back in 2001. The second gen car that came in 2006 was christened the Laura. Come 2013 and the Octavia moniker made a comeback with the third gen model in 2013. Skoda has now given the Octavia a mid life cycle makeover and the few updates should help the car stay fresh till the new one comes a calling. Here’s a look at what’s new in thew 2017 Skoda Octavia.

2017 Skoda Octavia Exterior

The first change you notice immediately is at the front. The Octavia gets a quad headlamp setup with LED units and DRLs. These remind you of the W212 Mercedes E-Class, and while we found them weird in pictures, in the flesh they actually look pretty good. There is a new front grille which looks rather classy along with restyled front and rear bumpers. Other changes include restyled LED tail lamps and new design alloys wheels. Additionally Skoda has increased the rear track of the Octavia by 20 mm on the 1.4 petrol and 2.0 diesel and 30 mm on the 1.8 petrol. Just as in the pre facelift car, the 1.8 TSI gets multi link independent suspension at the rear while the other two models torsion beam setup.
