2017 Skoda Octavia Interior

The cabin of the facelifted Octavia is pretty much identical to the older car. The two tone interior lends a very airy feel and build quality is top notch. The highlight is a new 8.0 inch touch screen for the infotainment system. It is very easy to use and responsive too. However, it is quite a finger print magnet. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard. Other features include new multi information display on the instrument cluster, ambient lighting in a choice of ten colours, Driver Fatigue Detection System, sunroof and rear view camera. There’s also a hands free park assist system, where the car can help park in a parallel or perpendicular parking spot. The key here however is that while the car will steer itself, you have to be in control of acceleration and braking. It is not easy as it seems and takes quite a while to get it right. It would be quicker and easier to just park the car yourself. The front seats are large and comfortable with adequate support. The driver’s seat comes with electric adjust. There’s good space at the rear too. Leg room is good while headroom for taller passengers is a little compromise due to the notchback design. The boot is large enough to move a house around and some more with standard capacity at 590 litres going up to 1580 litres with the rear seats down.
