2018 Audi S5 Sportback Ride and Handling

With the quattro all wheel drive system, it is expected that the S5 handles well. And so it does. Going into corners at high speed inspires a lot of confidence. Power is rear biased and grip is fantastic because of the way the system transfers power to the front and rear as when needed. The steering also weighs up nicely in Dynamic mode and is equally light when you drive at city speeds. However, the weight of the car is felt when you are taking a long turn. Ride quality is also fairly compliant despite the stiff suspension set up and 18 inch wheels. I was also surprised that the car did not scrap any speed breakers inspite of having four people on board. High speed stability is great and brakes have excellent stopping power.

2018 Audi S5 Sportback Verdict

The Audi S5 Sportback is easily the most fun car of the Brat Pack. At a price of Rs. 72.5 ex showroom, it isn’t cheap though. What you get however, is a fantastic driving experience with practicality thrown in. The engine is powerful and the exhaust note is addictive. It also comes with a lot of equipment for the money you pay. Of course the back seat isn’t the best and the lag in the gearbox can get a bit annoying. But if you love driving, the S5 is a car you can drive everyday without any compromises and can be worth a serious look if you want a performance car that can be used as a daily driver. It will definitely bring a smile to your face every time you take to the wheel.
