Day 9 – Exploring Manali

I woke at 8 am and relaxed in my room with a cup of tea. After freshening up I headed to the restaurant for breakfast and then spent some time exploring the beautiful Club Mahindra property. At 12.30 pm sharp, the whole gang left for Martins but this time we decided to car pool and take only half the cars from the convoy. Martins is one of the most famous joints in Manali and it is only open on Sundays. So we were lucky. The roast chicken and pizzas were to die for as was the awesome ice cream and cake dessert.

After lunch, a few of us explored the Manali market place. The area was filled with foreign tourists and it gave a very Goa type feel. There were lots of cafes, tattoo salons and souvenir shops and I loved the vibes around. We got back to the hotel at around 5 pm after which I watched the Singapore Grand Prix in my room. At 8 pm we left for The Fat Plate Café for dinner. The food there was fabulous. After the starters, I ordered the Mustard Chilli trout for the main course. You can’t come to Manali and not have trout. After dinner it was an all out dance party with one from the gang turning DJ for the evening. We didn’t realize how time flew by and soon it was time to return to our hotel. Tomorrow we would be heading back to Chandigarh, back to where we started.
