Honda is already working on the next gen Amaze and officials involved in the car’s development have confirmed to Autocar India magazine that the new model will plusher than the current car.

The Amaze was launched in India in 2013 but got criticism for its spartan interiors. The facelift in 2016 brought along with it a new dashboard and interior trim but the car maker is looking to better that with the next gen car. High quality interiors and a new dashboard can be expected.

Honda will also be enhancing space in the cabin. Plans are to increase width so that three passengers can sit abreast at the rear in comfort. The current car is also the most spacious in its segment but the extra width will make it only better.

The new Amaze will be built on the platform of the current car with length just under the four metre mark. The car is expected to get design elements and styling cues from the bigger City. A new grille along with angular headlights will add to the appeal of the car.

Honda will continue with the 1.2 litre -VTEC petrol and 1.5 i-DTEC diesel engines in the new Amaze along with the option of an automatic gearbox at launch.

The new Honda Amaze will go on sale in 2018 and will be one of Honda’s six new models for the Indian market in the next three years.
