There is no doubt that the Hyundai Creta has a tremendous fan following with the Indian car buyer. Ever since its launch in 2015, the Creta has been nothing short of the king of the compact SUV segment. Hyundai consistently sells between 9,000 to 10,000 units month after month, making it one of the Korean car maker’s best selling products. Even though priced at a premium, the good looks combined with the Hyundai badge and a host of features made it hard to beat. For 2018, the Creta gets a mid life maker over along with a host of additional equipment. We tell you what’s new.

2018 Hyundai Creta Facelift Exterior

While the overall shape of the Creta remains unchanged, there are a few styling changes that the facelift gets. The first thing that you notice is the new hexagonal front grille that is larger and wider than before. It gets a thick chrome border as well. While the headlamps look similar as before, they get new detailing and now merge with the front grille. There is a restyled front bumper that houses a couple of round fog lamps. There are new LED DRLs that surround that fog lams as well. They are very bright and look classy too. The front bumper also gets a larger faux skid plate. All these changes have managed to give the Creta a very aggressive look. On the side, the only new additions are the new 17 inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The roof rails are no longer raised as well. There is nothing much different at the rear. The tail lamps are slightly re-profiled, the rear bumper has been redesigned and features a large black insert. The size of the rear skid plate has been increased as well. We feel LED tail lamps would have been a good update to add appeal to the car.

The range topping SXO variant also comes with a fitness band that doubles up as a smart key. There is no need to have the key in your pocket as long as you are wearing this. Hyundai has also introduced two new exterior paint shades for the 2018 Creta, a Marina Blue and Passion Orange that you see on this test car. There are a total of seven colour options now along with two dual tone options for the SX model trim.
