The 2018 Porsche Cayenne has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 1.19 crore for the base variant, E-Hybrid at 1.58 crore and Turbo at Rs. 1.92 crore ex showroom.

Cayenne Turbo is powered by a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 petrol engine that puts out 550 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque. These figures are 30 horses and 20 Nm more than the older model. Porsche claims a 0 to 100 kph time of 4.1 seconds (3.9 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package) and a top speed of 286 kph. The engine is mated to a new eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic gearbox. and features active all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management . The new model also gets the three-chamber air suspension with the active shock-absorber system (PASM). The Turbo gets Porsche Surface Coated Brakes (PSCB), which are standard while you can also get  Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) as an option.

The base Cayenne features a 3.0 V6 petrol engine that develops 335 horsepower and 450 Nm of maximum torque. The E-Hybrid gets a 3.0 V6 engine putting out 462 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.  It comes combined with a 14.1kWh battery . Porsche claims a 44 km range on all electric mode. There will be no diesel Cayenne available as Porsche has decided to do away with diesels for good.

On the exterior, the new Cayenne gets design elements from the Panamera. There are four point LED DRLs in the headlamps and a new front grille. The tail lamp cluster is also similar to the Panamera. It is the first SUV to have an adaptive roof spoiler as a component of its active aerodynamics. Depending on the position of the spoiler, this optimises efficiency, increases downforce on the rear axle and, in the airbrake position, shortens the braking distance needed from higher speeds. As a result, at full braking from 250 km/h, the Turbo comes to a stop up to two metres earlier. Twin exhaust complete the rear end.

The interior is all new and comes with a high-resolution display and touchscreen of the Porsche Advanced Cockpit. Sports seats seats with 18 way electric adjust and integrated head rests are standard.
