Audi has launched the RS6 Avant in India at a price of Rs 1.35 crore ex showroom Delhi. This is Audi’s fourth performance car launched this year after the TT , the R8 LMX and the RS7 facelift. The RS6 Avant will be brought to India via the CBU route.

The RS6 Avant gets a large hexagonal grille with the ‘quattro’ word on the bottom half. It gets Matrix LED headlamps. It gets LED rear tail lamps with dynamic turn signals. It comes with sporty bumpers with large air intakes and side skirts. It rides on 20 inch alloys as standard while you can go for 21 inchers as an option.The car has a light weight hybrid aluminium construction.

The RS6 Avant gets an all black interior with carbon and aluminium trims. It gets RS sport seats with integrated headrests. Other standard features include a BOSE Surround Sound system, Heads Up display, tyre pressure monitoring system and a panoramic sunroof.

Power comes from a 4.0 litre twin turbo TFSI V8 engine that develops 560 horsepower and 700 Nm torque that comes up between 1,750 to 5,500 rpm. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in a claimed 3.9 seconds and with the Dynamic Plus Package, has a top speed of 305 kph. The engine is mated to an eight speed tiptronic gearbox and the car comes with Audi’s quattro all wheel drive system. It also gets the cylinder on demand feature where four cylinders in the engine are shut off when not required, thus aiding fuel efficiency. Other features include adaptive air suspension, Electronic Stability Control, RS Sport suspension plus with Dynamic Ride Control and carbon ceramic brakes as an option.

Estates are not very popular in India so it remains to be seen how many units will Audi sell of the RS6 Avant.
