BMW has officially revealed the 3 Series facelift for the international markets. Apart from cosmetic enhancements, there are new engine options as well.

The facelift 3 gets new front bumpers, headlamps with LED day time running lights, new rear bumpers with full LED tail lamps. Full LED headlamps can also be ordered as an option. On the interior you get chrome highlights for the controls, air vents and central control panel. There is a new centre console with with a sliding cover for the cup holders. You also get a choice of new wheels, exterior colours and equipment.

 

Going further, the entry level variant of the facelift 3 Series gets the new 1.5 litre 3 cylinder petrol engine that puts out approx 134 bhp. This engine is also seen in the base Mini Cooper. Additionally the 4 cylinder petrol motors are available in two states of tune. They generate 181 and 248 bhp respectively. There is also a new 4 cylinder diesel engine with power output between 114 bhp in the entry level variant to 188 bhp in the top end model. Internationally there will be a total of four petrol and seven diesel engines on offer. They will be mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed Steptronic transmission.

The facelift 3 Series is expected to hit Indian shores later this year.
