The BMW Plant Chennai has started the production for the all-new BMW 5 Series. The new BMW 5 Series will be launched in India on June 29, 2017.BMW will offer three engine options for India. There will two diesel engines in the model line up:  A  2.0 litre four cylinder unit developing 190 horsepower in the 520d and a 3.0 litre inline six cylinder engine making 265 horsepower in the 530d. The petrol 530i will feature a 2.0 litre four cylinder motor developing 252 horsepower. This the same engine that does duty in the 3 GT 330i.

The BMW 5 Series will rival the Mercedes E-Class LWB, Audi A6, Jaguar XF and the Volvo S90 in India.
