What you see in these images could be the BMW i5. BMW had earlier mentioned that they were planning a third model in the ‘i’ lineup.
These computer generated images have been registered by BMW in Japan and the design shares styling cues from the i3 and the i8.
The front features the trademark BMW kidney grille with slim angluar headlamps similar to those on the i8. The car features a four door layout with the rear doors opening in suicide fashion. The rear fenders and tail lamps resemble the i3. From the direct behind, the car looks like a bloated i3.
BMW had said earlier this year that, they were working on a third ‘i’ model but a decision was yet to be taken on the body style. The car maker added that the new model would be focused towards families so it is a possibility that the new model could be a crossover which is very popular with buyers.
The model in these images is definitely a concept with a production version following soon.
BMW sells the i8 sports car in India which the only ‘i’ model in the company’s India portfolio.
