The hardcore version of the Ferrari 488 that is slated for debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show has been leaked online on the international FerrariChat forum. The images reveal that the new model has been named the 488 Pista where Pista means track in Italian.

The 488 Pista is substantially lighter than the standard 488 GTB. The car features all new bumpers with a large front splitter and a prominent rear diffuser. A lot of carbon fibre components have been used in the construction of the new model.

The interior features more carbon fibre along with racing seats. Other changes expected are omissions of unnecessary equipment and thin glass for the windows as well.

The 488 Pista will be powered by a 3.9 litre V8 twin turbo engine that has been retuned to develop 700 horsepower rand 760 Nm of torque. The engine is also expected to be 10 percent lighter than the unit used in the 488 GTB.

The Ferrari 488 Pista will rival the Lamborghini Huracan Performante, Mclaren 720S and the Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
