Honda has officially discontinued the Mobilio MPV in India. The Mobilio, based on the extended Brio platform, was launched in India in 2014. It was a direct rival to the Maruti Ertiga and a more compact alternative to the popular Toyota Innova.

However, it was not too well received in the market and poor sales combined with lack of demand has led to its demise. Officials from Honda confirmed that production of the Mobilio has been stalled since a while now. Dealers across the country have also sold off all the units of the MPV that they held. Honda is contemplating launching the 2017 Mobilio in India but no decision has yet been taken.

The Mobilio in India was powered by a 1.5 litre petrol engine and a 1.5 litre IDTEC diesel engine. Honda also launched the BR-V in the Indian market which could have taken away sales from the Mobilio considering it is a seven seater as well.
