Jaguar has expanded its F-Type range in India by launching a new variant with the 2.0 litre Ingenium turbo petrol engine. It is available in both, coupe and convertible forms and is priced at Rs. 90.93 lakh and Rs. 1.01 crore ex showroom.

The 2.0 litre four turbo charged Ingenium engine develops 297 horsepower and 400 Nm of maximum torque. This engine is the most powerful four cylinder engine ever used in a production Jaguar. It also generates the highest specific power output of any engine in the F-TYPE range: 150 horsepower per litre. The car goes from 0 to 100 in just 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kph. The engine is mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox that has been tweaked to work with the four pot motor.

The Ingenium engine has reduced the weight of the F-Type by 52 kg. Most of its weight saving comes from over the front axles. The suspension and power steering have also been reworked to suit the weight of the car.

Jaguar says that the four cylinder engine doesnt take away anything from the F-Type’s engine note. The four cylinder car gets an active exhaust as standard, while the R-Dynamic variants feature a switchable active exhaust.Other features include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Speed Limiter and Lane Keep Assist.
