The Jaguar XE has been spotted on Indian roads before its official launch at the Auto Expo 2016 next month.
The Leaping Cat’s entry level sedan will rival the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4 in the Indian market. The XE will be locally produced at Jaguar Land Rover’s facility in Pune and is expected to come with a competitive price tag.
The XE has an all aluminium chassis which will be a first in its segment. Power will come from the new 2.0 litre diesel Ingenium engine that produces 161 bhp. A 2.0 petrol and V6 petrol motor are also expected to join the engine lineup for India.
Dealers have apparently started taking bookings for the car at an amount of Rs. 1 lakh. Deliveries for the XE are expected to started from February 20, 2016.
