The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is now the world’s fastest four door sedan by breaking the lap record at the Nurburgring track.

The XE SV Project 8 stopped the clocks at 7 min 21.23 seconds after lapping the legendary 20.7 km track. The time set by the car is a whole 11 seconds quicker than the previous record.

The Project 8 uses a retuned version of the 5.0 litre supercharged V8 engine. The motor develops 600  horsepower, making it the fastest road legal Jaguar in the history of the company. It does the 0 to 100 kph sprint in 3.3 seconds. The car will is designed, engineered and will be assembled by SVO’s Technical centre at Coventry in the UK.

The XE SV Project 8 will be the second Collectors’ Edition vehicle from SVO after the Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 in 2014. Only 300 units will be produced worldwide. We hope atleast a couple of these land up on Indian shores.
