The Jeep Grand Cherokee petrol has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 75.15 lakh ex showroom Delhi. The petrol variant will be available in the Summit trim and is a CBU.

Jeep Grand Cherokee petrol engine

The Jeep Grand Cherokee petrol is powered by a 3.6 litre Pentastar petrol engine that develops 289.6 horsepower and 347 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an upgraded eight speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. This new Gen II auto box will also be available in the diesel variants of the Grand Cherokee.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee range also gets updates in terms of equipment. The Limited and Summit variants now get the new 75thAnniversary fascia with  ‘billet-like’ plating on the grille slots while the SRT gets upper and lower cooling intakes on the front fascia.

New alloy wheels: 18-inch, high gloss silver painted aluminum will be standard on the Grand Cherokee Limited; 20-inch, polished aluminum with Technical Grey painted pockets standard on the Summit; 20-inch, full polished with satin clear coat, standard on the SRT and 20-inch Matte Black split spoke will also available on the SRT.

Air suspension will now be standard on both the Petrol and Diesel ‘Summit’ variants of the New Grand Cherokee and LED fog lamps will be standard across the entire model range. It gets Electric Power Steering and three drive modes: Normal, Comfort and Sport. Additionally, it gets ’ParkSense’ – a rear park assist system now includes a Start / Stop function that applies the vehicle’s brakes.

All Grand Cherokee variants across the range now get an acoustic windshield which helps reduce noise and enhance comfort.

Six colours on offer including two new shades – Billet Silver Metallic, Bright White, Granite Crystal Pearl, True Blue Pearl, Velvet Red (new) and Diamond Black Crystal (new).
