LaFerrari-Aperta-2After a long wait, here are the first official photos of the LaFerrari convertible released by the Maranello based super car maker. The technical specifications and the name of the car will be announced at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, where the new drop top will make its global debut. However we know that car will be named the LaFerrari Aperta. Ferrari will also reveal the number of units that will be built. However all units of the LaFerrari Aperta have been sold out after a special customer preview earlier this year.

Mechanically the LaFerrari Aperta should remain unchanged. Power comes from a 6.3 litre V12 engine that develops 789 bhp and 700 Nm torque. It also comes with a onboard KERS unit that makes 161 bhp (HY-KERS). This gives the LaFerrari a combined power output of 950 bhp. It comes with a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox that sends power to the rear wheel. The LaFerrari goes from 0 to 100 kph in 2.7 seconds and has a claimed top speed of over 365 kph.LaFerrari-Aperta-3The LaFerrari Aperta will be available with a carbon-fibre hard top and a soft top. Extensive modifications have been made to the chassis to retain the same torsional rigidity and beam stiffness as the coupe. The car’s aerodynamics have also been further honed to guarantee the same drag coefficient even without the roof.
