The Lexus LX has been a familiar face on Indian roads for years now. A sizeable number of them were privately imported in the mid 2000’s and this flagship SUV from the Japanese car maker has been a “super hit” with the Bollywood brigade as well. With the official entry of Lexus in India, the LX can now be bought from a Guest Experience Centre (Lexus term for showroom) near you. The LX for India is available in a single 450d variant and a pocket burning Rs. 2.32 crore (ex showroom Delhi) price tag. Want to know more? Here goes.

Lexus LX450d Exterior

The first thing that strikes you about the LX is the sheer size. Getting to the numbers, it is a little over 5 meters long and almost 2 meters wide with a height of nearly 1.9 meters. The stares and awe struck looks that it gets on the road just goes to show how intimidating it is. Seeing one of these in your rear view mirror will certainly give you a fright. The LX is based on its Toyota cousin, the LC200 Land Cruiser but the ‘L’ badge brings in a lot more. The spindle front grille that is now a Lexus trademark comes in an XL size on the LX450d. The grille itself has a ‘love it or hate it styling’ but it cannot be ignored. The LED headlamps have some fantastic detailing and there are a lot of L shaped elements like the LED daytime running lamps and the LED for lamps that get integrated cornering lights as well. The side profile is pretty identical to the LC200. There are muscular wheel arches that house 18-inch alloy wheels and out test car wore Yokohama Geolander rubber. The rear features large L shaped LED tail lamps that get a chrome garnish. There is additional chrome just above the number plate and the LX gets a split tail gate. It also gets an integrated roof spoiler.
