Mercedes Benz India recently inaugurated a new production facility at the Chakan plant in Pune where it has started locally assembling the GLA crossover. The Made in India GLA (Great overLand Adventure) will now be taking part in a world tour.

A locally produced GLA 200 CDI will will be traversing across six continents, seventeen countries and clocking more than 50,000 kms, before returning to Pune. Mercedes is partnering with the NDTV network for this one of a kind drive. The car will be flagged off in July from the the Mercedes plant at Chakan and drive through Europe, Northern and South Africa, North and South America, Australia and Asia.

The tour promises to present a medley of diverse people and their culture from across the world, new places thatmany have not explored earlier, and also celebrate various events and festivities across the 17 countries enroute. There will be interaction with celebrities, motorsport legends and adventurers
enthusiasts.
