Mahindra displayed the Thar Wanderlust at the Auto Expo 2018. The Wanderlust features a host of modifications by Mahindra Customization, though the prices were not revealed at the show.

On the exterior, the Wanderlust features a matt blue paint job. The trademark 7 slat Jeep grille remains and there are headlamps with round LED daytime running lamps. The new front bumper gets a winch in the centre and there is a new flatter bonnet as well. There are large 33 inch tyres mated to steel wheels. The rear gets a jerrycan for fuel, unique tail lamps and twin exhausts. A cool feature is gull wing doors for access to the rear seats. The interiors are pretty identical to the standard Thar. The Wanderlust gets a two tone dashboard along with racing seats by Sparco. Also included is a touch screen infotainment system and a sunroof.

The Wanderlust is powered by the same 2.5 litre CRDE turbo diesel engine that develops 105 horsepower and 247 Nm of torque. the engine is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox with 4 wheel drive.
