Mclaren has unveiled the new 570s which will make its debut at the New York Motor Show. This is the first model in the new Mclaren Sports Series, the other two categories being the Super Series and Ultimate Series.

The 570s comes with a rear wheel drive setup and has a carbon fibre chassis. It is powered by a mid mounted 3.8 litre twin turbo V8 engine which puts out 562 bhp and 600 Nm torque. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 328 kph.The engine is mated to a seven speed SSG transmission. 30 percent of the car’s components are bespoke to the Sports Series. The 570S gets carbon ceramic brakes as standard. The Sports Series has a newly developed suspension system and has three driving modes: Normal, Sport and Track.

Design wise, the 570s shares similarities with other cars in the Mclaren stable. The headlamps and tail lamps along with the basic structure resemble its stablemates. But the 570s does get new aerodynamic styling elements like front aero blades, side skirts and rear diffuser. All these elements are fixed and not flexible as seen in other Mclaren models. The rear of the car features an aluminium mesh allowing effective heat evacuation as well as a view into the engine bay. This sits below a concave rear window, another signature Sports Series Coupé design cue. The 570s features 19 inch alloy wheels in the front and 20 inch alloys at the rear.  P Zero Corsa tyres are standard from Pirelli – 225/35/R19 on the front and 285/35/R20 on the rear.

The standard sound system has four speakers but you can also order a McLaren Audio Plus 8-Speaker Upgrade System and bespoke Bowers & Wilkins 12-Speaker Premium Audio System with 1280W surround sound as an option. It also gets a TFT digital instrument cluster. You can choose upholstery from a variety of Alcantara, Nappa leather and carbon fibre. There is also 144 litres of boot space up front.
