AMG GT Roadster und AMG GT C RoadsterMercedes-AMG has taken the wraps off the AMG GT Roadster and the AMG GT C Roadster ahead of their debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

The AMG GT Roadsters feature a three layered fabric soft top. The roof can open or close in around 11 seconds and upto a speed of 50 kph. The fabric roof is available in a choice of three colours: black, red and beige.

Both these open top models are powered by the same 4.0 litre bi-turbo V8 engine that does duty in the AMG GT Coupe. In the GT Roadster the engine develops 476 horsepower at 6000 rpm and maximum torque of 630 Nm coming up between 1700-5000 rpm. In the GT C Roadster, the same motor develops 557 horses at 5750-6750 rpm and maximum torque of 680 Nm coming up between 1900-5750 rpm. The engine is mated to a AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7‑speed dual-clutch  gearbox. The GT Roadster goes from 0 to 100 kph in 4.0 seconds and has a top speed of 302 kph. The GT C Roadster does the 0 to 100 kph sprint in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 316 kph.AMG GT Roadster AMG GT C RoadsterThere are four driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. The GT C Roadster gets an additional Race mode. This mode optimally adjusts the shift strategy of the dual clutch transmission to the needs of the racetrack. By pressing the separate “M” button in the centre console, the driver can activate the manual transmission mode in any drive mode.

The AMG GT C Roadster comes with the AMG performance exhaust system as standard and is optional on the GT Roadster.  The exhaust system comes with two adjustable flaps that open and close depending on the selected drive mode.

The two AMG Roadsters have adopted a special technical highlight from the AMG GT R: the active air management system. Vertical louvres located in the lower area directly behind the front fascia can be opened and closed by an electric motor in around one second. This ensures that the cooling performance is according to need. Always achieving the optimum position requires highly intelligent and fast control.AMG GT C Roadster AMG GT RoadsterOn the exterior, there is the traditional long bonnet and short but wide rear end. The Roadster gets an AMG Panamericana front grille with 15 vertical slats. The large air inlets ensure optimum cooling to the V8 engine. The Roadsters come with either 19 or 20 inch twin 5 spoke alloy wheels. Both Roadster variants feature an aerofoil integrated into the boot lid. This is electrically extended and retracted at defined speds, depending on the selected transmission mode.

On the interior, the GT Roadster twins feature macchiato beige Exclusive nappa STYLE leather for the the first time. AMG Performance seats are available as an option. The seats are also optionally available with the AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, which makes open-air driving enjoyable even in low outside temperatures. The air vent is seamlessly integrated into the seat’s head restraint area. To meet the individual preferences of customers, the temperature of the warm airflow can be set in three stages. Other features include optional seat climate control and a Burmester Surround Sound system.AMG GT C Roadster AMG GT Roadster
