BMW X6

The new BMW X6 has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 1.15 crore (ex showroom all India) and will be available only in one variant, the xDrive40d and will get the M Sport kit as standard.

The new X6 gets new larger headlamps that merge with a larger and more prominent kidney grille. There is an all new front bumper with a skid plate and air vents with chrome garnish. Fog lamps come integrated into the bumper. At the rear, the new X6 gets new tail lamps along with new rear bumper, rear diffuser and rectangular twin exhausts. It comes equipped with 19 inch double spoke alloy wheels.

On the interior, the new X6  gets an M steering wheel wrapped in leather, door sills with M badging, heads up display, Harman Kardon sound system and individual head liner.  Safety features include six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Side-Impact protection, Electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensor.

Power comes from a 3.0 litre in line 6 cylinder twin turbo diesel engine that develops 313 horsepower and 600 Nm of maximum torque. The engine is mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox. 0 to 100 kmph comes up 5.8 seconds and the X6 goes to a top speed of 240 kmph.

The BMW X6 is available in five colours – Alpine White (non-metallic shade), Carbon Black, Flamenco Red Brilliant Effect, Space Grey and Mineral White.

The new BMW X6 will rival the Mercedes Benz GLE Coupe that is expected to reach India shores soon
