The all new Land Rover Discovery will launch in India on October 28, 2017. Bookings for the SUV were opened in August earlier this year.

The new Discovery will come with two engine options for India. These include a 3.0 litre V6 diesel developing 258 horsepower and 600 Nm torque and a 3.0 litre V6 petrol motor churning out 340 horsepower and 450 Nm torque.

The new Land Rover Discovery gets aggressive front bumper with the prominent Land Rover grille. Styling cues from the Range Rover is easily noticeable. The new design is a complete departure from the boxy styling of the current Discovery SUV. The new SUV is  lighter than the current model as well, because it will the aluminium architecture used in the Range Rover. It weighs 20 % lighter than its predecessor. It measures 4970 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2923 mm. It has a ground clearance of 283 mm and 900 mm of water wading depth. Additionally it gets all-independent self-levelling air suspension, that can be lowered by maximum 40 mm at rest to an “access height” that facilitates entry or loading.The Discovery comes with three rows seating which feature Intelligent Seat Fold technology. The second and third row seats can be adjusted using controls at the rear of the car, the central touchscreen and even remotely via a smartphone app as part of the InControl Touch Pro Services. All three rows get heating function, while seat cooling function is available for the front and middle row. Massage function is available for the driver and co-passenger.
