The new Mini Countryman has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 36.5 lakh ex showroom Delhi. The car will be imported and sold as a CBU across Mini dealerships in India.

The new Countryman comes with a bold powerdome, contoured bonnet, a redesigned hexagonal grille, increased ground clearance, short overhangs and large xenon headlights with LED foglights. It gets striking wheel arches and 17 inch alloy wheels as standard.

Changes to the interior include a slightly raised seating position, height adjustable standard Sports leather seats, multifunction Sport Leather Steering Wheel and a 10 speaker 640 watt Hi-Fi Harmon Kardon music system. There are a new range of interior colours, trim elements and upholstery materials on offer as well. The rear seats falls in a 40:20:40 fashion for more boot space and you can also get a panoramic glass roof as an option.

Power comes from a 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo diesel engine that develops 112 horsepower and maximum torque of 270 Nm at 1,750 – 2250 rpm. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in a claimed 11.3 seconds and has a top speed of 185 kph. The engine is mated to a six speed automatic gearbox. Paddle shifters can be ordered as an option.

Safety features include  6 airbags, 3-point seat belts, Dynamic Stability Control including Dynamic Traction Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist and Run-flat indicator. The Countryman is available in a choice of two non metallic and nine metallic colours.
