The Skoda Karoq compact SUV has made its world debut at Stockholm. The model replaces the Yeti worldwide.

The Skoda Karoq measures 4,382 mm in length, is 1,841 mm wide, and 1,605 mm high. It has a wheelbase of 2,638 mm (4×4: 2,630 mm) and 69 mm of knee room.  The front carries Skoda’s new design language. The SUV gets headlights inspired Bohemian glass art. Full LED headlights are available as an option from the Ambition trim level, and features eight lights trips that resemble eyelashes. The rear gets full LED tail lamps. They feature the trademark Skoda C shape design.

The interior features a spilt design dashboard. The Karoq has a standard boot capacity of 521 litres with the rear seats in place. This increases to 1,630 l with the rear seats folded down. Skoda is also going to offer optional Varioflex rear seats. This system consists of three separate rear seats, that can be adjusted and completely removed individually. With all the seats removed, the cargo capacity of the Koraq goes up to 1,810 litres.The infotainment system is based on the second generation Modular Infotainment Matrix. The top systems Columbus and Amundsen have a Wi-Fi hotspot. An optional LTE module is available for the Columbus system. The infotainment features SmartLink+ platform, compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLinkTM as an option on the basic system. SmartLink+ is standard on the higher variants.

The digital instrument cluster is fully programmable to the driver’s needs. There is new LED ambient lighting in the door trims and the dashboard with a choice of ten colours.

Skoda Karoq compact SUV Engine specifications

The Skoda Karoq will be available with choice of two petrol and three diesel engines i.e: 1.0, 1.5, 1.6 and 2.0 litre. Power will range from 115 to 190 horsepower. All engines are Euro VI compliant and come with start stop technology. All engines are mated to a six speed manual or a seven speed DSG automatic gearbox. The 2.0 litre TDI diesel gets 4×4 and DSG gearbox as standard. The 1.5 TSI petrol engine gets the cylinder deactivation feature.The Skoda Karoq from the Ambition trims onward gets driving modes: Normal, Sport, Eco, Individual and Snow (4×4 model only)

The Skoda Karoq is expected to hit Indian shores sometime in 2018.
