Its official. The Nissan Kicks SUV is headed to India in 2018. The news was confirmed by Paymen Kargar, senior VP, Nissan Motor Co. Ltd, Chairman of Management Committee for Africa, Middle East and India when speaking to Autocar India. “Our next product for the Indian market is the Kicks and it will come next year.” he said.

The Nissan Kicks is also based on Renault’s M0 platform that underpins the Duster and soon to launch Captur. Kargar added. “Having the future Kicks on a proven alliance platform is actually an advantage, not just at an investment level but also in terms of price and quality. When you have a platform used for multiple models, then the effort you make in ensuring quality is very high.”

Nissan Kicks details

The Kicks has very distinctive styling and shares no design cues with its Renault counterparts. It follows Nissan’s crossover styling themes which gives it its own character..

Equipment list for the Kicks includes 7.0 inch infotainment with smartphone connectivity, part digital instrument cluster, flat bottom steering, auto climate control, and dual tone upholstery inserts.Nissan has launched a mass market model after the Terrano that came in October 2013, The car makers last launch was the GT-R supercar in December 2016.

Once launched the Nissan Kicks will rival the Captur and the Jeep Compass in the Indian market
