Tata Motors has launched the new GenX Nano range at Rs 1.99 to 2.89 lakh ex Showroom Delhi and it comes with a number of upgrades.

The new Nano now comes with an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) gearbox. The AMT is a five speed gearbox with the option of driving in manual mode via the tip tronic function. There is a sports mode for quicker responses and the gearbox also gets the ‘creep’ feature where the car inches forward as soon as you take the foot off the brake pedal similar to what is seen in conventional automatic gearboxes. The GenX Nano now also comes with an openable rear hatch which can be opened only by using the key. Storage capacity is 94 litres for the automatic and 110 litres for the manual. Other features include an audio system with four speakers, surround sound, CD player, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. There is a new steering wheel from its bigger stable mate, the Zest.

The GenX Nano is powered by the same 624cc two cylinder engine mounted at the rear. The ECU has been modified for better fuel efficiency. It also gets a new 24 litre fuel tank which gives the car a driving range of over 500 km.

On the exterior the car gets new front and rear bumpers with a new grille featuring infinity motifs. It also gets new smoked headlamps and integrated fog lamps in the front bumper.

The new GenX Nano will be made available in five variants: XE, XM, XT, XMA (AMT) and XTA (AMT). There prices for all variants are as follows (Ex showroom Delhi)

XE – Rs 1.99 lakh

XM – Rs 2.29 lakh

XT – Rs 2.49 lakh

XMA (AMT) – Rs 2.69 lakh

XTA (AMT) – Rs 2.89 lakh

There are also a variety of accessories to choose from for the GenX Nano from alloy wheels to a body kit and sunroof.
