The Tata Nexon compact SUV has scored a 5 star rating in the Global NCAP safety tests. It is the first and only Indian car to receive the rating.

The Nexon’s structural integrity and overall safety was tested in the Global NCAP tests. It was tested for both front and side impacts. The Nexon scored the highest adult occupant safety score of (16.06/17.00) amongst all the models tested across the Indian market. It also got a 3 star rating for child occupant safety.

Safety features on the Tata Nexon include dual airbags, cornering stability control,ABS with EBD, Child-safety door locks, Voice-based alerts, rear parking assistance and Front fog lamps with cornering assistance, ISOFIX anchorage for child seat and front co-passenger seat belt reminder.

The Nexon is powered by 1.2 litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engines mated to either a manual or AMT gearbox.

The Nexon had earlier received the 4 star rating in August this year and the 5 star rating comes just 3 months later.
