Electric versions of the Tata Tiago and Tigor were showcased to the public for the very first time at the Auto Expo 2018 2018. Tata Motors is already in the process of supplying the Tigor EV to the Indian Government for official use. The car maker has already delivered the first batch of cars to Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) in December 2017.

The Tiago and Tigor EVs look nearly identical to their fossil fuel powered counterparts. Prominent changes include a gloss black findhed grille without holes, EV badge on the grille, blue accents below the front grille and around the fog lamp housing and blue decals on the sides. Changes to the interior are just a knob style lever instead of the conventional gear stick. Power comes from a 3 phase AC induction electric motor that develops 30Kw at 4,500 rpm which around 40 horsepower. Official figures for the battery range have not been revealed yet but quick charging option is available on both cars.

Tata Motors will launch both the EVs in the market later this year and prices are expected to be around the Rs. 10 lakh mark.
