The Toyota Yaris sedan has made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2018. The car will go on sale in May 2018 with bookings opening in April.

The Yaris is on sale in 120 countries globally. The Indian spec will be manufactured in India including the engine. On the exterior it features projector headlamps, daytime running lamps, black air dam at the front and wrap around tail lamps.

On the interior, the Yaris gets a two tone dashboard, touch screen for the infotainment system, roof mounted AC, 4.2 inch TFT screen for the multi information display and electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

The Yaris will be powered by a 1.5 litre petrol engine mated to a six speed manual and a 7 speed CVT gearbox. No diesel engine is on offer.

There are a host of safety features available. These include 7 airbags, all around disc brakes, ABS with ABD, Vehicle Stabilty Control, Hill Start Assist, rear camera with front and rear sensors, ISOFIX child seats and rain sensing wipers.

Chief competition for the Toyota Yaris will also include the Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna apart from the Honda City.
