India’s first electric hypercar, the Vazirani Shul has been unveiled in India. The car was first uveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year. The Shul has been designed and developed by Vazirani Automotive that is headed Chunky Vazirani, designer and co-founder of the company.

The Shul has received inputs from the Force India Formula 1 team during development. French tyre giant has also been part of the process and has designed a tyre specifically for this car. The Shul uses a carbon fibre tub chassis, similar to what is seen in the BMW i8. Vazirani Automotive has worked with a company in the UK fr development of a turbine that will allow drives to use regular petrol on the existing infrastructure.

The Vazirani Shul features four electric motors that will be powered by a turbine. There will be a single ratio gearbox that will be mated to the turbine motor. Braking comes courtesy Brembo. Chunky Vazirani also mentioned that many of the styling elements on the Shul have been inspired by Lord Shiva.

The Shul has been designed in California and is expected to go into production in the year 2021. While the default location for production is slated to be California itself, Europe could also be an option. Component and production versions of the car are expected to begin soon. Chunky says the production car will look 95 percent similar to the concept that has been unveiled.
