Volkswagen GTI Interior

Open the long doors to access the interior. Once inside, you feel familiar territory. As a Polo owner at least I did. Once settled in, you start noticing the differences.  There is a new instrument cluster which features analog gauges for fuel and temperature. There is red stitching on the steering, gear lever and the seats. The three spoke flat bottom steering wheel comes with paddle shifters and GTI logo at the bottom. The centre console is pretty much identical to the standard Polo, save for a larger screen for the infotainment system and different knobs for the climate control. The dashboard has a soft touch premium feel as well and soft touch materials are used on the door pads as well. You get tartan racing seats at the front with superb side bolstering. They are large and very supportive as well. The rear seats can be accessed by pulling a lever on the front seat. The rear seats are not a bad place to be as I had thought earlier. There is decent head room and knee room is adequate as well thanks to the scooped out back of the front seats. There are some missing features though. You don’t get keyless entry, auto dimming mirror, push button start, rear camera, auto headlamps etc. That’s disappointing for a car that costs what it does.

Safety features on the GTI include six airbags, electronic stability control, electronic diff lock, ABS, ASR, EDL and EDTC.
