German car maker Volkswagen has began production of the Tiguan SUV in India at the company’s production facility in Auraganbad. It is expected to launch next month. The Volkswagen Tiguan was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The Volkswagen Tiguan is built on the the MQB platform shared with the new Octavia. While the Tiguan comes with multiple engine options abroad, the India spec version will come with a 2.0 litre diesel engine. Transmission for the Tiguan will be in the form of a 7 speed DSG gearbox. All wheel drive will also be on offer.

This is the second generation of the Volkswagen Tiguan.
