The Volkswagen Tiguan SUV has been launched India at a starting price of Rs. Rs 27.68 lakh going up to Rs 31.04 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai, pre-octroi). The Tiguan was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2016.

Volkswagen Tiguan SUV Engine Specifications

The Volkswagen Tiguan is built on the the MQB platform shared with the new Octavia. Power comes from a 2.0 litre diesel engine developing 143 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7 speed DSG automatic gearbox. The Tiguan comes with four wheel drive as standard.

Volkswagen Tiguan SUV Features

The Tiguan will be sold in Comfortline and Highline variants. Volkswagen is not offering an entry level Trendline model at the moment.

The Comfortline comes with features that include LED headlamps with daytime running lamps, 17 inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable front seats, paddle shifters on the steering wheel and cruise control. In addition to these features, the Highline gets a reverse camera, a panoramic sunroof and 18 inch alloy wheels.

The Tiguan comes with curtain and front airbags, ABS, ESC, front and rear parking sensors.

The Tiguan is being produced locally at Volkswagen’s Aurangabad plant in Maharashtra
