Under the hood lies a 2.0 litre four cylinder engine. The interesting part is that the motor is both supercharged and turbocharged that helps it develop 367 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque. The eight speed gearbox is carried over from the earlier T6 but is tweaked for better performance. The car gets launch control too. The 0 to 100 kph sprint is done away with in just 4.7 seconds, while top speed stands at 250 kmph. The engine feels muted in D mode but shift into Sport or Sport+ and the exhaust flaps open to give you a nice throaty growl.
The S60 Polestar comes with Ohlin shocks which have been specially developed for Polestar. Sure the ride is stiffer than before but body roll is not noticeable. The all wheel drive and fatter Michelins also help the car stick to the tarmac. However, there was a hint of under steer around the sharp corners of the Kari Speedway. The steering offers great feedback too and it would be hard to guess that it is an electronic unit. We can only comment on how it performs as a daily driver once we get the car for a full review.

The S60 Polestar gets radar based safety features, airbags, adaptive cruise control, collision warning with auto braking, Blind-spot detection with Cross Traffic AlertCity SafetyPark Pilot Assist. Additionally it gets seat-belt pre-tensioners, Side Impact protection and Whiplash protection. The Volvo S60 Polestar comes in a segment that has so far been German territory. It comes across as a fantastic package with very useable power. The performance levels more than match up to its rivals, the Mercedes-AMG C43 and the Audi S5.  And Volvo has dropped a bomb with the price. At Rs. 52.5 lakh ex showroom Delhi, it really is a bargain for what it has to offer considering it’s a fully imported CBU. Power, style comfort, tech and safety, the S60 Polestar has it all. Volvos is only bringing 30 units of the car to India this year, so if you want one, head to the dealership right away. And yes, the exclusivity factor is part of the sweet deal.
