The 2018 Volvo XC40 has been launched in India at Rs. 39.90 lakh ex showroom India. This is introductory pricing and the XC40 will be available in a single R-Design variant.

The Xc40 is powered by a D4 2.0 litre four cylinder diesel engine that puts out 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of max torque. An eight speed automatic transmission send power to all four wheels.

Features on the Volvo XC40 include Thor Hammer daytime running lamps, 18 inch alloy wheels, Sensus touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging for mobile phones 12 speaker 750W Harman Kardon Sound system, power tail gate along with heated front and rear seats.

The XC40 gets a host of safety features that include adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, lane keeping assist, pilot assist, ESP, Emergency Braking, eight airbags, traction control, hill descent control and Hill start assist.

The Volvo XC40 will rival the Mercedes GLA, BMW X1 and the Audi Q3 in India. Volvo has started locally assembling the XC90 SUV and S90 in India and will start assembly of the XC60 as well later this year.
