Tata Motors had first showcased the Sierra EV concept at the Auto Expo 2020. Now the Sierra has returned in near production guise and has been unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023.
The biggest difference between the earlier concept and the one shown now is the 5 door layout. The earlier concept had a sliding door at the side. This one has 4 conventional opening doors and tailgate. There are also few design changes to the exterior with a new panel in place of a grille, a chrome strip connecting the head lamps. It also gets blackened C and D pillars. Overall it looks more finished and it will be interesting to see what the final production version looks like.
The interior also gets upgrade with twin screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment, a chunky steering wheel and gear selector along with a full rear bench seat.
Apart from being an EV, the Sierra is also expected to come in ICE guise powered by a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine. Whether the Sierra gets AWD or not remains to be seen.
