MINI Convertible (5)The new Mini Convertible has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 34.9 lakh all India ex showroom.

The Mini Convertible comes with a fully automatic electric soft top with rollover protection. It can be opened or closed in 18 seconds at a speed of up to of 30 kph. It comes with a Wind Deflector can easily be locked into position behind the front seats. The soft top can also be ordered in the colours of the Union Jack as an option.

The interior of the Mini Convertible features a multi function sport leather steering wheel and sports seats as standard. It comes with a MINI Excitement Package, which comprises of  LED interior and ambient lighting as well as a projection of the MINI logo on the ground on the driver’s side when the door is opened. It also comes with high end upholstery for the interior Other optional features include MINI Head-up Display, Harman Kardon hi-fi system and LED headlights with cornering function.  The Mini Convertible has boot space of 215 litres which is approximately 25 percent more than the previous generation car.

The Mini Convertible is powered by a 2.0 litre four cylinder twin turbo petrol engine that develop 189 bhp and 280 Nm torque. 0 to 100 kph comes up in 7.1 seconds and it has a top speed of 233 kph. The motor is mated to a newly developed six speed automatic gearbox. It also comes with the option of a six speed sports automatic box that features paddle shifters. There are three driving models on the Mini Convertible: MID, Sport and Green.

Safety features include Front and Passenger Airbags, Brake Assist, 3-Point Seat Belts, Dynamic Stability Control, Crash Sensor, Anti-lock Braking System, Cornering Brake Control and Run-flat Indicator.

The Mini Convertible will be sold in India as a fully imported CBU and rivals the Volkswagen Beetle, Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione and the Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
