BMW has launched the petrol variant of the X3 in India at a price of Rs. 56.90 lakh (all India ex showroom). The X3 petrol will be available in a single xDrive30i Luxury Line trim and is produced locally at the car maker’s Chennai plant.
The X3 petrol is powered by a 2.0 litre four cylinder petrol engine that puts out 252 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. This propels it from 0 to 100 kph in a claimed 6.3 seconds. The engine is mated to an eight speed Steptronic automatic gearbox. Paddle shifters are also standard.
On the exterior, the X3 features Adaptive LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, double kidney grille with chrome bars, two-tone underbody protection in frozen grey matt with chrome trim, air-breather in chrome, LED tail lamps, roof spoiler and 19 inch alloy wheels.
The interior features leather upholstery in Vernasca, a Sensatec-covered instrument panel with contrast stitching and Fine-wood trim in poplar grain grey. Additionally it gets adjustable rear seat backrest, rear window sunblind, large panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting in six designs, 10.25 inch touch screen for iDrive and navigation, 600 Watt Harman Kardon sound system, Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Standard boot space of 550 litres is expandable to 1,600 litres with the rear seats folded.
Safety features include six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounting.
The BMW X3 petrol rivals the Mercedes-Benz GLC300 petrol.
