Jaguar has launched facelift version of the XJ sedan at a starting price of Rs. 98.03 lakh (ex showroom Mumbai). It is available in two trim levels for the diesel: Premium Luxury and Portfolio and a single Portfolio trim for the petrol.
On the exterior, the updated XJ comes with a new redesigned mesh grille, full LED headlamps, ‘Double J’ Daytime Running Lights, new LED tail lamps and restyled bumpers.
On the interior, there is a reworked instrument cluster, InControl TouchPro infotainment system, electrically adjustable front seats with five massage programmes, airline style reclining seats at the rear with three massage programmes and memory function, rear entertainment system with individual 25.90 cm HD screens, folding business tables, LED reading lights, drop-in footrests, electric side rear window blinds and a panoramic sunroof. It also gets a 825W, Meridian sound system with 20 speakers and two subwoofers. 
The XJ petrol is powered by a 2.0 litre four cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that develops 237 bhp and 340 Nm of torque. The diesel engine gets a bump up in power from its 3.0 turbocharged V6 unit which now makes 296 bhp and 700 Nm torque. The petrol XJ goes from 0 to 100 kph in 7.9 seconds, while the diesel does the same sprint in 6.2 seconds.
The facelifted XJ gets adaptive air suspension and Adaptive Dynamics. It also gets All Surface Progress Control (ASPC) technology, which is a low speed cruise control that helps the car to cope with low traction situations.
The XJ is available in 8 colour options: Polaris White, Rhodium Silver, Ammonite Grey, Dark Sapphire, Odyssey Red, Aurora Red, British Racing Green and Ultimate Black.
The XJ is assembled at JLR’s facility in Pune and rivals the Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7 Series and the Audi A8
