mercedes_amg_c43_4matic_09The Mercedes-AMG C63 S is one of the maddest cars I have driven in 2016. Loads of power coupled with sedan practicality and a machine that loves to gets its tail out before you can say sideways. But then, if you don’t want to spend C63 money and at the same time want a sizeable number of horses and displacement under the hood, what do you do? Then say hello to the Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic, the perfect fit between the standard C-Class and its full blown AMG cousin. Mercedes-Benz India launched 12 products this year, and as an added bonus have brought in the AMG C43 to make it a total of 13 models for 2016.  The car was launched at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida and we got to take it for a few hot laps around the track to see what its all about.mercedes_amg_c43_4matic_13 mercedes_amg_c43_4matic_11 mercedes_amg_c43_4matic_14Look at the C43 upfront and you know that there is something different about this three pointed star. There is a diamond radiator grille with a large Mercedes logo in the centre along with an AMG badge. The front bumpers get larger air intakes and aggressive styling. A BiTurbo 4Matic badge adorns the front fenders and the C43 comes shod with 18 inch twin 5 spoke alloy wheels flanke by flared wheel arches. The rear features quad exhausts with a diffuser trim on the bumper. There is a subtle lip spoiler on the boot as well.mercedes_amg_c43_4matic_22The AMG styling carries over to the cabin as well. The instrument cluster features a chequered flag theme with a 5.5 inch multi information display. The dashboard features red contrast stitching with many silver finish trim panels. The C43 comes with AMG sports seats finished in ARTICO leather. They feature side bolstering, enough to hold you in place during some high spirited driving. They get electric adjust and memory function. The three spoke flat bottom sports steering has a fantastic grip and comes finished in black leather with red contrast stitching. Paddles shifters are mounted on the steering as well. A free standing tablet style 7 inch screen for the infotainment system sits in the centre of the dashboard.  Also super cool are the Designo red seat belts. mercedes_amg_c43_4matic_21 mercedes_amg_c43_4matic_24Continued…
