Mercedes-Benz G350d Interior

The doors open and close with the sound of a large vault. My favourite part though, is the locking and unlocking of the doors. It sounds like you are loading a shot gun, a loud ‘khat’, loads of drama indeed. You literally have to climb into the G-Wagen, thanks to the massive 241 mm of ground clearance. Once inside, the first thing you notice is that, while the G is classic retro from the outside, the interior is thoroughly modern as any other Mercedes-Benz of today’s generation. There are twin screens for the infotainment and instrument cluster, turbine style AC vents, sport three spoke steering wheels with soft touch pad controls, a grab handle on the passenger side with ‘G manufaktur’ lettering. The ‘G manufaktur’ offers an endless number of customization options for the G-Wagen from hand crafted details to leather options, the works. The feature list includes heated and cooled front seats with massage function, electric sunroof, Burmester sound system etc. but most of these are optional and will increase the price if you choose to tick them off. The front seats are large and nothing short of thrones. Supremely comfortable and there’s automatic bolstering when you turn in either direction, holding you firmly in place. There is plenty of space at the rear too and the seat is adequately comfortable.
