The Lamborghini Aventador S gets updated pushrod and Lamborghini Magneto-rheological Suspension (LMS), with revised kinematics adapted to the new four-wheel steering. New suspension geometry, optimized for Lamborghini Rear-wheel Steering, includes upper and lower arm and wheel carrier to reduce caster and load on the system. A new real-time variable damping system optimizes wheel and body control, and balance and ground stiffness is maximized. New rear springs also enhance the car’s balance.

Longitudinal control is achieved via an improved ESC strategy with faster and more precise control of traction control and vehicle dynamics, depending on the driving mode selected. Extensively tested on surfaces such as snow and ice, the Aventador S has improved adhesion detection to maximize grip in all conditions and enhance its handling capabilities. The Aventador S permanent four-wheel drive has been calibrated for the stabilizing effect of the new Lamborghini Rear-wheel Steering, allowing more torque to the rear axle: when powering off the throttle, less torque is shifted to the front axle to allow oversteer behavior.lamborghini_aventador_s_03The 6.5 litre V12 that powers the Lamborghini Aventador S makes 40 more horsepower than its predecessor. The car now makes  740 hp, with a 690 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine now has a redline of 8500 rpm as opposed to 8350 rpm on the previous car. The Aventador S goes from 0 to 100 kph in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed 350 kph. The V12 engine is mated to  lightweight Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) 7-speed gearbox that offers robotized gear shifts in up to 50 milliseconds. There are four driving modes available: STRADA, SPORT, CORSA and the new EGO mode. The new EGO mode allows the driver customize his own settings for traction, steering and suspension. The new exhaust system is 20% lighter than that of the outgoing model.lamborghini_aventador_s_06Interior features include a new TFT digital dashboard that can be customized according to the driver’s needs. Apple CarPlay is also standard.  The Lamborghini telemetry system is available as a option: It records lap times and track performance as well as trip data. Interiors can further be customized using Lamborghini’s Ad Personam customization program.
