The Jeep Compass has been on Indian roads for more than a year now and has achieved huge success in our SUV loving country. I was very impressed when I drove the Compass in Goa last year but felt that it missed some features and a few friends who were looking at buying the Compass nodded in agreement. The good folks at Jeep India seem to have been listening, and here we have the Compass Limited Plus which is now the range topping variant in the Jeep Compass line up in India.  Here’s a low down on what’s new.

2018 Jeep Compass Limited Plus Exterior

First up I must admit that this Magnesio Grey shade on the Compass looks fantastic. On the exterior, you get chrome trimmed, sexy looking 18 inch alloy wheels and a Limited Plus badge on the tail-gate. These are the only visible changes on the new variant. Features wise, it also gets auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers.

On the inside, the first thing you notice is the large panoramic roof, something that is on the top of the Indian buyer’s car shopping list. It stretches across almost the length of the entire roof and gives a very airy feel to the cabin. There is a new 8.4 touch screen for the infotainment system, which replaces the 7.0 inch unit. It performs well and comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The driver’s seat gets eight way electric adjust and four way powered lumbar adjust. It also gets memory function. Also added is an auto dimming IRVM. There is no cruise control offered yet and the blank buttons on the steering wheel continue to stand out like a sore thumb. Hope Jeep adds that soon.

Safety wise the Limited Plus comes equipped with side and curtain airbags taking the total count of airbags to six. All the other variants get only two.
