Mercedes-Benz has launched the updated 2018 C-Class in India with prices starting at Rs.40 lakh going up to Rs. 48.50 lakh across variants. The C220d comes in two variants, Prime and Progressive while the range topping C300d comes in a single AMG Line model.

The updated C-Class has over 6,500 parts changed from the pre-facelift version and 50 percent changes from the initial C-Class model range. The new model gets minor tweaks to the exterior with the C300d getting Multi Beam LED headlamps along with reworked front and rear bumpers. There are new design 18 inch alloy wheels as well.

The interior gets a new steering wheel with gal touch pads that are seen on the E-Class and the facelifted S-Class. There is a new 10.25 inch screen for the infotainment system. The C300d gets Active Park Assist as well. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now standard.

The 2018 C-Class is powered by a BS VI compliant 2.0 litre diesel engine that develops 194 horsepower and 400 Nm torque in the C220d and 145 horses and 500 Nm torque in the C300d. The engine is mated to a 9 speed 9G Tronic automatic gearbox.

The Mercedes C-Class goes up against the BMW 3-Series, Volvo S60, Audi A4 and Jaguar XE in the Indian market.
